christmas in july! our favorite under-rated travel products

It’s never too early to be thinking about Christmas! And with those Labor Day sales right around the corner and your Christmas plans booked, it’s time to start thinking about those MUST HAVE travel products. And we have them. This isn’t your typical list, it’s only the best of the best- let’s jump in!

It’s 5 months until Christmas! I never understand the Christmas in July to be honest. I feel like it should be Christmas in June! That’s the 6 month mark- I know because it basically falls on my birthday. Anyways let’s go ahead and jump into our very favorite products.

Okay, first- the best of the best. We’re going to do this quickly but we’ll create a blog post with links to all these in the show notes. While these are affiliate links that do help us out a bit if you buy through them- all these products are things we swear by!

First up- Air Travel Musts Haves

Trtl Pillow- I just love this. It’s so much better in my opinion than the typical plane pillows. They also have a new and improved, deep sleep bundle that they sent us to try and it’s amazing. They literally thought of everything with this- compression socks (another must), a super comfy sleep mask and a cooling style of the Trtl Pillow- which Bruce has already claimed. Really, this pillow helps getting sleep on the plane 100%.

Bluetooth connector for headphones- Bruce and I are two different types of headphone people. Bruce is an Airpod person all the way- he absolutely loves them. BUT you can’t connect to Bluetooth on (most) planes. So there’s a super easy, cheap solution. A Bluetooth connector. It plugs in like headphones then allows you to connect your Airpods to the entertainment.

Noise Canceling Headphones- I’m an “over the ear” type of person and I like noise canceling headphones- I just can’t hear any of the movies otherwise. There are so many different types of noise canceling headphones out there and some people have their favorites and want to spend big bucks- which is totally fine. But I got this pair on amazon for under $100 that I think are great.

Portable Charger- this is a lifesaver for any travel really. It saved us many a times. There are tons of chargers but the one we use is this Anker charger.

There’s also a thing called FuelRod and you can pay to swap them out for fully charged versions, which is pretty awesome. This is especially awesome at Disney because it’s free to swap them out.

There’s also this little contraption that will hold your phone on the seat if you don’t have a screen, which is great for those domestic flights. This could be a lifesaver so we included it too.

Road Trip Travel

How long are you going to be gone? If you’re doing a cross country road trip, I suggest a plastic organizer- hear us out! This is the best way to organize your snacks, and anything you need to grab quickly on the road. If you’re camping- this can also organize all your food prep materials. This is the number one thing we wished we had thought about on our trip.

A car emergency pack- if you’re going long distances, you need to be properly prepared. This isn’t a super fun travel tool, but you should definitely have it.

Planning a roadtrip?

We’ve got you covered! Start with our episode on our roadtrip out West and all our success (and fails).

Then see why we’d skip Yellowstone and where we’d go instead.

Finally check out our weekend in Badlands National Park and why we think you should definitely make it part of your itinerary.

Camping Travel

Ah, the Jetboil! We love this thing. You can make coffee, camp food- etc. It really steps up car camping to another level and it’s super easy and portable. Even if you aren’t wanting to invest in a lot of camping gear- this is a good snag.

The next thing we’re going to get is a camp stove. We really only do car camping- so that’s what’s next for us. This is the one we’re looking at, but we haven’t bought it just yet. We’ll keep you updated!

Last but not least! We have our #1 recommended travel product that I don’t think gets enough credit. And that’s hydration packs- you know like the Liquid IV. But we like one better than Liquid IV- and that’s Taste Salud. First, why hydration packs? Travel can dehydrate you- flights dehydrate you, you’re out of your water routine, etc. Staying hydrated can keep you feeling better and more energetic and it can also reduce jet lag. We’re just really big fans of these guys. Taste Salud tastes better than Liquid IV and has WAY less sugar. But whatever your hydration pack favorite is- we think it’s totally under valued in the travel world. Grab some before you go on your next adventure, you’ll be glad you did.

If you’re looking for more travel tools, here are our favorites!

Did we miss anything? Do you have any must-have travel products that you swear by? Drop them down in the comments so we can grab them too!
